Description
To give attendees an understanding of the causes of fire, how to prevent a fire and what to do in the event of a fire. This is a follow on course from the Basic Fire Safety training course.
Course objectives
On completion of the course attendees will be able to:
- Identify fire hazards and know what to do in the event of a fire
- Identify if your premises are equipped with appropriate fire alarms, detectors, emergency lighting and firefighting equipment
- Ensure fire equipment is inspected and maintained as frequently as necessary
- Advise staff on measures to reduce the risk of fire occurring, and on action to take in the event of an emergency
- Select and use the correct fire extinguishers

- Role and responsibilities of fire wardens in a fire and on a daily basis
- Fire evacuation procedures (site specific)

Certification
On successful completion of the course and required test, participants will receive a Fire Warden certificate.
