At the end of this Evac Chair Course, learners will have a clear understanding of the legal responsibilities surrounding the safe evacuation of people with limited mobility. They will know how to assess evacuation risks, prepare an Evacchair correctly, and operate it with confidence. The course guides participants through positioning and manoeuvring the equipment along escape routes and down stairways, with an emphasis on safe, controlled use during an emergency.
The learning journey begins with an exploration of why evacuations matter and what they involve, before moving into the legal requirements that shape safe practice. Learners then examine how to carry out a thorough evacuation assessment and how these findings feed into effective emergency evacuation plans and procedures.
