Understanding Asbestos : The Hidden Hazard

Overview:

This course is for anyone whose everyday work could bring them into contact with asbestos-containing materials — maintenance and trades staff, facilities and cleaning teams, and those working in retail, offices, catering, care and education. It does not qualify you to work on asbestos. Instead, you will learn how asbestos harms health, where asbestos-containing materials are commonly found, what the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Asbestos Regulations 2006 require of employers and employees, and what to do if you suspect or accidentally disturb asbestos at work.

Assessments
This course contains online self assessments after each module and an online certification exam at the very end. The self assessments do not count towards the final examination marks but simply give you an idea of how you are doing. On successfully passing the final certification exam you will be issued with a certificate.

Duration & Other Information
You do not have to complete the online course in one sitting and you can also break it into small chunks if you wish. Should you have to leave the course unexpectedly, it will remember where you were the last time you left it. How long it takes you to complete the online course really depends on you but 60 minutes is a good guideline.
