How it works

• Read the video assessment requirements and check you have the equipment and space needed.
• Buy the course online. It takes less than a minute.
• Your login details arrive by email straight away.
• Log in, choose your language and complete the theory modules on your phone, tablet or computer.
• Complete the online declaration on the Rubikon LMS so your video assessment can be booked.
• Take your live video assessment (about 30 minutes) within 1 month of passing the theory course.
• If successful, download your certificate from the Rubikon Training LMS within 2 working days of your assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need for the video assessment?

A device with a camera and microphone, a stand or a helper to hold it, a box of about 5–10 kg, a waist-height table, a fixed shelf above shoulder height, a loaded trolley and a clear space of at least 3 metres. The full list and set-up instructions are on the video assessment page.

How soon after the theory course must I do the assessment?

Your assessment must take place within 1 month of passing the online theory course.

What if my set-up isn't right on the day?

Your assessor's time is booked specifically for your session. If your set-up or lighting doesn't allow the assessor to see you clearly, the assessment can't go ahead, and an additional assessment fee will apply to rebook it.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Do not take part if you have an injury, pain or a medical condition that affects your ability to lift. Email support@rubikon.ie before you buy and we will discuss an alternative.

Can I do the theory in short sessions?

Yes. The course remembers where you stopped.

Can I do the theory course in my own language?

Yes. When you log in, choose your language from the list. The languages available for the theory course are shown above. Translated versions are provided to support understanding.
